Digital marketing is an important area for many businesses, as it is one of the best ways to connect with a wide audience.  Digital marketing is basically advertising and brand awareness but using the internet, rather than traditional marketing routes like billboards, TV and radio.

Digital marketing takes a number of key skills to learn.  You need to be highly proficient at using a computer, confident on the internet and understand how social media channels work.  It is certainly worth setting up a few social media accounts so you can get a good feel for them.

In terms of learning, you can complete formal qualifications in digital marketing, or you could go down an apprenticeship type route.  This way you get to learn whilst doing – a good way to gain skills.
